Congratulations to Dick Guthrie upon becoming 50th Infantry Regiment Honorary Colonel.
He trained us at Fort Hood and took us to Viet Nam and he was an outstanding leader. He worked us hard and expected a lot out of us and he cared for everyone of us. There plenty of tough times but he never let us down.
We were soldiers once... and young. But the maturity of our leadership was far beyond their calendar ages... and we are thankful for that. I, for one, am thankful... and always will be.
