864th Engineers

I have the daily log for May 22, 1970. It describes the event in a spot report from what appears to be the 864th Engineers. Apparently we were working with them....helping excavate a culvert.(My "assumption" until I can document same). Not having a roster from that date, I cannot confirm his assigned unit....but Ray Sarlin must have had something to indicate this was our man?(When he assembled our KIA list.)

I have copied the Situation Reports for the month of May, 1970...and....the 22nd is missing from the NARA folder! I will check, on my next visit, for an Intel Report for that date. I know there is coverage in those Intel files...I can only hope there is a report for that date.

The two other men Barbara asks about were John Hines, who was a 52E20: "Prime Power Production Specialist"(Engineers) and Valentino LaScola, 52F20: "Electrician" (also Engineers).

Barb....ask your contact if he was with the 1/50th or the Engineers?
