Hi Jim; I haven't been back to Chicago for many years, but there was always a huge Fireworks display every year at both Navy Pier, and in Grant Park on the Lakeshore.... I'm pretty sure they still have them.

I talked to my Son (who still lives there) and he said there's company called Seadog that has a Lake Cruise to watch the fireworks from out in Lake Michigan....he said it's phenomenal:
