This anniversary usually passes without notice, but I remember it this year. This is the day 42 years ago when our track ran over a command-detonated bomb placed in the culvert under the road. This is in memory of Butch Burns who was driving and Lt. Burke who was riding on the front of the track.
Thank you Denis Castelli and Jimmy Segars who came to see me in Japan.

I just finished these two Memorial pages recently:

Burke: http://www.ichiban1.org/pdf/Memorial/Burke.pdf

Burns: http://www.ichiban1.org/pdf/Memorial/Burns.pdf

You will notice I have no photos for either of these men. Anyone who has a photo of either man...the time to finally dig it out is now. We're not getting any younger...and when we are gone, they will be names with no faces.

Thank you Jim.
Interesting to note that I was retired from the Army on Butch's birthday.
