My twin Brother - Douglas Decker

Postby Decker » Thu Feb 25, 2010 1:56 pm

Dear Members of the 1/50th.

My twin brother, Douglas W. Decker, Specialist 4th Class, was in the 1/50th from Oct 1969 to Oct 1970. He died in 1997 from affects of hepatitis. I visited your web site and looked at all the pics, which reminded me so much of the pictures he sent home. I actually have three or four super 8 movies he took while there. I was wondering if anyone remembers Doug. He was 11B. If anyone has some remembrances or pics of him please contact me at: yom24hrday@aol.com
I also have some beautiful poems he wrote about his expierences over there.
I was also in the army at the same time, but was in the 10th Special Forces Group out of Ft. Devens.

Thanks for the web site and all the memories it brings back of my brother.

My initial "Knee Jerk" reaction was that this was a message from/about Larry Decker...which it is obviously not. Larry is alive and well and living in picturesque Northwestern New Jersey.

Sorry I cannot help with a remembrance of this poster's brother...I was there in 1967-8. Hopefully someone else remembers him. I AM, however, very much interested in those 8mm films you have and I will contact you privately. If you do not receive my private e-mail...PLEASE contact me at kiss-ac@juno.com (Jim Sheppard, 50th Inf. Assoc. Historian)
