I received this message from a former pilot in the South Vietnamese Air Force. We exchanged emails after I read his book "A Vietnamese Fighter Pilot in an American War".

"To my brothers-in-arms,
Remembering you all on Veterans Day, my family and I want to thank you for your service and for your help in our fight against the North Vietnamese communist invaders in the 1960s and 1970s. Have a wonderful Veterans Day.
Hoi Tran & family"

To Mick, Jim, Hoi Tran, and all of my brothers as well as veterans everywhere, I wish everyone health and happiness on this veterans day. In this day and age it is well to remember that without veterans there would be no peace ever. Temporary peace is the gift given to nation's peoples by their veterans. GOD bless you all. Words from a grade school student to veterans:
"Thank you veterans, for risking your lives for us. I feel safe in school because of your sacrifice."
