Our Honorary Command Sergeant Major, Chris Lewis, supplied the following description for the Copley Challenge held at the Battalion Campus on Registration day:
Another great day in the “Bayonet Battalion!” Honored to be part of the 8th Annual “Copley Challenge,” where 2-man teams from each of the companies in 1-50 Infantry compete against each other while conducting a series of Infantry-related tasks in honor of CPT(R) Jay Copley, wartime Commander of C Co 1-50 Infantry during the Vietnam War, who was awarded the Distinguished Service Cross for his actions during the Battle of An Bao on 05 May 1968;
Conducted a LPD on the battle with the leaders and Cadre of 1-50 Infantry alongside Honorary Regimental Commander of the 50th Infantry Regiment (and BN S-3 of 1-50 during the battle) COL(R) John Topper
Congrats to 1st place winners SSG Coupe and SSG Lopez of C Co 1-50 Infantry!
