This piece has been identified as a M110, 175mm, self-propelled Howitzer, Heavy Artillery piece.  Ray Knoll wrote: "I was attached to the 6-32nd artillery (PROUD AMERICANS), central highlands, II Corps. I took care of three batteries, 8inch and 175mm howitzers, Dusters, and wheeled vehicles. The 8 inch and 175 are on the same chassis M110. We changed gun tubes from 8 to 175 to keep Charlie off guard. The 155 self propelled were on a totally different chassis, M108, completely self enclosed. I hope this helps.GOD BLESS. Ray" . Possibly "Boom Boom #1" or "Ban the Bra" at LZ Schueller.
