I remember this stretch of flooded rice paddies along the shores of the Dam (Lake) Tra O. We found it safer to drive out through the paddies than it was to travel the road along the shore...which was often mined. This un-named stretch of unpaved road ran North and then East off of highway 505. On 505, just two clicks from this location, we lost at least three APCs to large land mines....which were often command detonated, large aircraft and artillery rounds which had not exploded when used in air strikes and artillery bombardments.
