My "girlfriend" for most of my 6 month TDY. I do not recall her name, but the other girls would call out "Su Ba" (Number 3) when I walked in the door. I knew she had children, but did not question her marital status. The relationship was never anything more than sitting and having drinks. I had an opportunity to see her again on New Years Eve. 1967-8, when myself and several others from the 1st of the 50th visited Saigon. It took the owner of the bar about a half hour to bring her in...and she was drunk. It was a sad scene. I learned later in my tour from a bar girl in Dong Tam who knew her that she was married to an ARVN soldier. If by any very slim chance, someone sees this photo and knows of her and/or what happened to her and her family...I would like to know.
