Veteran's Day 11/11/11

In Honor of all Veterans, May God Bless you.

Poem for Veteran's Day, 11/11/11
Names on a Wall
So many war heroes gave their all;
to a distant enemy, each would fall.
Their names inscribed upon a wall.
The highest price, ultimately paid;
in foreign lands, sacrifices made.
On a wall, their names displayed.
You gave your all, for “Old Glory”.
Written on that wall, an inventory
of hero’s names; each one a story.
Many mothers’ lives left undone.
Names on a wall: daughter or son,
in a war that ended but wasn't won.
You said farewell, but not goodbye.
Your life was taken; a wall tells why,
so be assured, your name won’t die.
Fifty eight thousand, two seventy two
wall etched names, for final review.
And to all Veterans, “God Bless you!”
