Thurman Pike, former 2nd Platoon Leader in B Company has been through a rough patch with his health. Some of you know about the persistent infections he has battled for some years. More recently, he was diagnosed with lung cancer and has been through 11 weeks of radiation. He also had a too-long stay in a rehab facility where he lost weight and got more drugs than he needed.
I talked with him today and he is plenty upbeat compared to the conversation we had last week.
He has to wait a few more weeks for them to evaluate how well the radiation worked.
