Note that Ernie Grisdale began his tour with the 1st of the 50th as a Lieutenant and Platoon Leader of the Mortar Platoon of Bravo Company.
He was subsequently promoted to Captain and served in the Battalion S-2 under the last Battalion Commander before the 50th returned to CONUS in 1970.
He retired from the Army after 20 years of service as a lieutenant colonel..
