This photo was previously identified as 2LT Richard L. Ramey, Platoon Leader of the Mortar Platoon of Charlie Company during preparations for deployment from Fort Hood Texas to Vietnam in the summer of 1967.
Subsequent contact with Rick Ramey's family revealed that this is not former LT Ramey. One source, whose name I do not recall, said that this young 2nd Lieutenant was transferred before the 50th deployed to Vietnam.
