After being reunited with their Armored Personnel Carriers at Qui Nhon, The 1st Battalion (Mechanized), 50th Infantry rumbled North on Highway 1 to LZ Ichiban and began to dig in...believing this would be their home for the next year.
The idea was abandoned after not much more than a week or so...much to the relief of the jittery new infantry troops AND the nearby villagers who likely got very little sleep during our stay!
