Ditto, George!

I put out the flag yesterday...and added some flag bunting this year as well. I also hung out a 1st Cavalry Division Flag for the first time...having purchased same at the Infantry Museum last month. This does not mean I am a huge fan of any other fraternal organization, but simply to honor the unit we were attached to when I earned my CIB. My loyalties are primarily to our 50th Infantry Regiment.

God Bless the USA.

I received a note today from Verna Myers, widow of one of our KIA's, RC Myers. She wrote:

"Happy fourth of July to all who assisted in keeping the United States free and safe from the enemy. My sincere appreciation is extended for the faithful and dedicated service you rendered.

It is too hot in Mississippi to bar-b-que, so you can have the celebration.

Love, Verna"
