While attending Armorer training at Fort Hood in the late Spring of 1966, I briefly joined the Fort Hood Rifle Team. Although I qualified "Expert" with the M-14 in Basic Training, this unit was composed of exceptional marksmen and I did not last long. It was intgeresting and I enjoyed the special weapons and slings used.
I was awarded this patch for my brief tenure with the team.
