Due to the extreme volumes of men being inducted in late 1965, we were at the Induction Station for 2 weeks! This facilitated permission to received visits from family and/or friends for limited periods on the weekend. My parents came to see me...with my dad driving my 56 Chevy. He had put the standard wheel covers back on...which I hated! Most amusing thing about this photo is the demonstration of how little I knew about the military. Note: Saluting with the wrong hand and total ignorance of proper saluting form.
