Many of the trainees did not have anyone present to do the honors, and Association Veterans and their guests were asked to move in and help.   It was a thrill to perform this honor for these young soldiers.  Your Historian personally place the Infantry Cord on PV1 Omar Banda, pictured here right behind and between the two in the front rank center of this photo, with Ed Fischer behind him and, I believe the Gold's are in there... also performing the honor on other trainees.   This was one of several "Highlights" for us at this outstanding reunion!   It was later intimated sincerely by several of these trainees that they were extremely honored that we Vietnam Veterans were "there for them!"
