Official Association Unit Records

Association Historian Jim Sheppard (see photo at left) has been compiling official unit records from individual submissions and from trips to the National Archives and Records Administration, 8601 Adelphi Road, College Park, MD 20740-6001 ((301) 713-6660). He is painstakingly transferring records onto CD-ROMs packed with files which are available to unit members at cost. Please see the Post Exchange page to order a copy or contact Jim direct.. Selected unit records will be posted on the website which you can read and download for free. Stay tuned for more information on this exciting development! In the meantime, please feel free to email the Association Historian Jim Sheppard with your queries or offers of additional input.

Company Rosters

Among the most useful records for Vietnam Veterans are the Unit Rosters and Morning Reports that contain the names of everyone serving on any given day in a company-sized unit. Morning Reports and unit rosters are archived in National Personnel Records Center (Military Personnel Records), 9700 Page Avenue, St. Louis, MO 63132-5100. They are among the most useful records for anyone trying to reconnect or remember names after 30+ years, but finding the right roster among so many hundreds of thousands of pages seems to be a real challenge. Here are the rosters that we have to date. Note: These files are, in most cases, too large to add here as "downloads". They are all available on our Document CDs.
